On Monday 14th September Poetry Whitchurch will launch Poetry In The Window 2026.

This year there will be 23 featured poems in windows in Whitchurch High Street, each written by a local poet.

Each day, from Monday to Blackberry Fair on Sat Oct 3rd, we will post a video of a featured poet reading their work in situ.

Almost all the featured poets are part of Poetry Whitchurch development groups - details at www.poetrywhitchurch.com.

Thank you to Whitchurch Town Council for their support, to all participating venues, poets and followers.

The next online open mic night features the incredibly talented Matt Nicholson as guest poet on Monday the 14th September from 8pm-9pm. Matt is a wry and passionate writer/performer from East Yorkshire. Well-travelled and widely published with his poetry, he unleashed his fifth full collection, Side-eye (Yaffle Press), in the summer of 2025. From the devil driving a yellow Lexus, to lighthouses at the edge of the world, Matt’s poems and delivery can “break your heart and mend it again” (Helen Mort – 2022).

For a Zoom link, or to book an open mic slot, please DM us on Facebook or email: hekay1958@gmail.com
